Quantum Information
Quantum information theory is a relatively new area burgeoning from early 1990's. Main idea is to study quantum systems through the information theoretical view. Many reknown physists, including Lev Landau, Erwin Schrodinger and so on, suggest that all the physical processes are informational so thus quantum physics.
The field had been quite flourished from the point that the completeness of quantum mechanics has been experimentally confirmed (modulo loophole argument), through Bell's inequality test, in the late 1980's. The area is fascinating not just because of its novelty but also because of its various practical proposals. There are still great deal of challenges in this field which will certainly revolutionize the science in the next generation. You are wormly welcome to join the exploration.
